Returning with our highly anticipated showcase, NUS Jazz Band's "Swingin' in the Rain" celebrates jazz in all its forms. This highly anticipated concert features music that glides between eras, from the golden age of swing to bold contemporary grooves, each note a reflection of jazz’s timeless allure.

We invite you to witness jazz in its many moods: the crackling energy of the big band as they bring classics like Singin’ in the Rain to life, the intimate whispers of the vocal ensemble with A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square, and the sultry melodies of the combo in Flor de lis. Whether you’re a lifelong jazz enthusiast or simply curious, let the rhythm of the evening carry you through soulful ballads, fiery solos, and infectious grooves.

Late Seating Policy

Latecomers cannot be admitted until an appropriate break in the show. For shows without an intermission, latecomers may risk being denied entry if there is no appropriate break in the show.

Admission of Children

All children require a purchased ticket for entry. As a courtesy to other audience members, infant in arms ad prams, and children below six years of age cannot be admitted for ticketed shows.

Serving up a potent brew of lush and inviting jazz – the bossa, blues, swing, bebop, fusion, ragtime, soul – namely arrangements from the traditional to the contemporary, the NUS Jazz Band was formed in 1994 by a group of dynamic musicians and jazz enthusiasts. We experiment with a spectrum of arrangements and improvisations from traditional big band to contemporary compositions. The members indulge in weekly practices under the guidance of tutors who are prominent in the jazz arena.
